Celebrate Christmas at Morrow: 2025 Advent Season Services & Events

We would love to have you join us in celebrating Christmas at Morrow. It’s a season where we have many guests. All are welcome!

Services & Events

  • Sunday, November 30 (11:30 AM): Make an Advent Wreath - Join us during Coffee Hour in the Fellowship Hall right after the 10:30 AM service to make an Advent Wreath for your home. All materials will be provided.

  • Sunday, December 21 (4:00 PM): Candlelight Carols - Join us for a beautiful evening of music and reflection as we usher in the light on the year’s darkest day. The service features the Morrow Church Chancel Choir, guest ensemble Clarum Sonum (directed by Rider Foster), the aPealing Bells, Morrow’s children’s choirs, and a professional string orchestra performing alongside Morrow’s youth string players. The program includes Elaine Hagenberg’s Illuminare—a radiant five-movement work tracing a journey from shadow to renewed hope—alongside selected choruses and solos from Handel’s Messiah and beloved Christmas carols in the classic arrangements of David Willcocks. All are welcome to experience this seasonal tradition of warmth, wonder, and candlelit joy, followed by an open house at the Roosevelt Parsonage.

  • Wednesday, December 24: Christmas Eve Festivities

    • 4:00 PM: Living Nativity: Live animals joining the shepherds, angels, and kings in front of the church.

    • 5:00 PM: Family Service: A joyful, kid-friendly Christmas Eve service.

    • 6:30 PM: Potluck Dinner: We know sometimes we can’t be with friends and family on Christmas Eve, so we’re hosting a potluck in the Fellowship Hall for anyone who wants to join.

    • 11:00 PM: Candlelight Service: A traditional candle-lit Christmas Eve service.

Advent Studies & Conversations

  • Join Sisters in Faith online for “A Child is Born,” an Advent study by Dr. Amy-Jill Levine on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. beginning November 24. Click here to join the live meeting on Zoom.

  • Come to the Sunday morning Adult Discussion Group (9:30 a.m. in the Second Mile Room) in December as we center our conversations on Advent.

Poinsettias for the Sanctuary
